Cheryl Carter Hutchings, CPA is a business and accounting professional with 20+ years of experience in nonprofit and small business financial management. She is the founder of CarterHutchings, LLC located in historic Old Town Alexandria. CarterHutchings offers virtual accounting and business advisory services to nonprofits and solopreneurs and tailors service delivery based on both accounting needs and business strategy.

Cheryl began her career as a tax accountant at a Big Four accounting firm and then worked in several for-profit and nonprofit finance roles (including serving as CFO of a charter school network). She is a licensed CPA and MBA with a passion for using technology to make her clients’ lives easier.
Cheryl has an undergraduate degree in Accounting from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from Virginia Tech. When she is not working with clients and collaborators, Cheryl is spending time with her two energetic children and planning for a future tiny home with her husband.
